NH Chronicle - Papa Razzi and the Photogs
Papa Razzi and the Photogs (Spotify link) is one of Matt Farley's most popular novelty song bands. The band's songs primarily focus on celebrities, though many albums contains songs about people who have simply contacted Farley, written about Farley, or just interest him and may not be especially famous.
Papa Razzi (along with his early Sports bands) was the beginning of Farley's attempt to maximize streaming reviews in 2007, with its debut album Dream Girls released in July 2007, just a week after he released Go Red Sox! by The Boston Baseball Band. The band has released 38 albums as of October 2022. The albums range from 14 to 100 tracks in length, with many albums having over 90 tracks. The band's total output across the 38 albums (and one single) released through December 2020 is 2,644 songs.
As of 2024, the most streamed song by this artist is It's OK if you Poop/Pee Your Pants Sometimes. Don't Feel Bad., with over 2.5 million streams on Spotify. Before that song took off, as of August 2019, the most streamed song on Spotify was "Ladies Love Justin Beiber", which appears on the band's eighth album, Songs About Famous People (Who Didn’t Ask Me to Write About Them) (2010). On YouTube a fan-made video for "Jensen Ackles, Great Man" from Celebrity People Are the Better People Yes True (2013) is among the band's most watched videos.
Farley appeared on New Hampshire Chronicle, a local television program, under this band name in 2010. NH Chronicle - Papa Razzi and the Photogs (Youtube, 6:34)
Farley performed the Papa Razzi song "Used to Be a Pizza Hut" from I Feel Compelled to Make Good Music Songs (2014) on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in 2016.
In July 2022, Kylie and Kris Jenner posted a Tiktok dancing to "Kris Jenner, You Are a World Famous Wonderful Woman"[1] from The Life of This Legendary American Music Man is Quite Good, Yes (2012), which received a great deal of celebrity press coverage, and a massive number of views. Cosmopolitan speculated that the band must be "pretty big" fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians to write the song, which they called "hilarious".[2]
